Back At The Office
Today was my first day back at the office since nearly 6 weeks. After getting H1N1 and from that being admitted to hospital, I was finally able to go to work again. It might sound weird but I really missed it. I love talking and laughing with my colleagues while working, and I really missed that.
It was only a half day of work though, a full day is still a bit much, especially if you consider I have to sit down and try to get some air again after coming back from the supermarket (which is across the street!). At the moment I’m really tired and during work there were some times I had to stop and just control my breathing for a little while before continuing. Overall though, it wasn’t a bad day for a first day.
I now have to see a specialist (physical therapist) weekly to learn new techniques to control breathing to make me stop gasping for air. My plan is to work out even more than I already do and join a gym. Right now I cycle and walk around the city a lot. I don’t take the car if I don’t have to and I actually enjoy cycling and walking. I have yet to learn techniques of breathing control while doing sports but once I get that down I just want to join a gym so it makes me use the techniques, which in turn can help me use them in every day life.
The hospitalisation and the possible pulmonary embolism really scared me. I guess it makes me want to live more healthy than I already do at the moment. I usually skipped breakfast but not anymore, I eat more fruit and vegetables than before and I want to exercise more in general. So H1N1 might have been good for something after all

I’m glad you’re okay. The H1N1 is a hard thing to overcome. Maybe it took something hard to bring about change. Continue to stay healthy, mama.

i’m glad to hear the flu is gone!
i feel the same way about school. it feels good to be away for a little while, but after that you start to miss your friends…
i guess i should try to be healthier too. i eat right (plenty of fruits and vegetables!) but i don’t work out. but the gym just isn’t for me. i guess i can try to walk more (once the rain stops) and maybe even work out at home
