Overcoming Your Fears
One of my biggest fears are wasps, bees and bumblebees (and other relatives like hornets). I’m not really scared of anything else but those creatures give me the creeps, especially wasps. Generally when I see one coming my way, whether I’m at work or at home, I just run for it. I don’t run away screaming, but it’s close to that.
So this year I decided to at least try and face my fears and hopefully overcome it. I have to say I’m making pretty good progress so far. I try to stay calm and don’t run away. I have to admit I still want to run away and sometimes I still do but not nearly as often as I used to. I even manage to enjoy my balcony and flowers without running back inside all the time.
Today I managed to even prove it; I took a photo of a bumble bee, macro style. It came out perfect and I was able to watch it collect more nectar before it flew off. So without further delay I present you my proof.

Oh my goodness I don’t know if I could do that. Good for you, though! the picture came out wonderfully.
Wow, very good job on working at conquering your fears — And look at the amazing photo you got as a result!
I think bumble bees look so cute close up … Although I always wonder how they can fly at all, as they look so chubby! XD
wow, good for you girl. One of my biggest fears are insects (just cause they gross me out) and I’m not too fond of wasps either, I usually do run screaming.
I have set a goal on my 101 in 1001 list to create a series of photos of insects.

It takes a lot of courage to face your fears, especially considering how close you got to it!
