Waxing

I have had this beautiful aluminium photo frame stuffed in a box in my bedroom for a long time. Not knowing what to do with it, where to hang it or what to display in it.

So yesterday, when I had a little time, I decided to make a few paintings to fit the frame. Not just with paint, but with wax. I tried to make 4 paintings that have the same kind of ‘look’ about them with similar colours and wavy structure.

One of them is displayed below, unfortunately the colours look weak and aren’t popping off the screen, while in real life, they do. The left is more purple than pink the bottom is bright blue and the top right is more green than what you see, but hey at least it gives an idea of what it looks like.

It’s not like I have made anything that looks like something in particular but I think everyone can make out something they seem fit. For me, on the right / middle it seems like a waterfall that ends up in a lake with waves, or something like that. Just use your imagination and let me know what you think it looks like…

Jeez girl, that is some wacked out stuff, and I mean that in a good way. It is gorgeous.

Do you sell your stuff?

Thank you for the compliment, I have to say this was only my second attempt with the wax. It’s actually really easy, and I didn’t use a brush but a special iron.

If anyone would be interested in buying my work, I would be willing to see if arrangements can be made, of course.

How does using wax compare to paint ?
The colours appear darker in the image above then they do on the actual picture ?

Oo, that’s lovely! It looks like something out of a fantasy film. I used wax once, you have to be so quick!
