There is a bird house in my parents’ garden which is now occupied by 2 birds having a nest in it. I know there are young birds in there as you can hear them when one of the parents flies in with food. Of course I took this opportunity to take a few photos of the parents flying in and out.

Photographing birds is not as easy as I thought it would be. For one they don’t wait leaving the nest until you’re ready for them. So it took a couple of tries before I managed to get a few decent photos of them leaving the nest. Amongst them was this hilarious shot I just had to share with you.It seems like the bird is smiling at me, and just looking at this shot makes me smile too. Doesn’t it look like the bird heard someone ask ‘Anybody Home?!’ and just popped his head out the door?

I just wish I had a telelens instead of the normal lens I used for this shot. As I can’t get close to birds without them flying away it would have been a sharper end result. But considering it was taken from a distance it’s not a bad shot at all (when it comes to sharpness). Did it make you smile too?
