Fun in the Sun

Spring has officially started now, and I love it. Even though we still have below 0 C temperatures at night sometimes, the sun is out for most of the day. Which is good for many reasons, not in the least that it means I can stuff my thick sweaters in the back of my closet and bring out my t-shirts, skirts and dresses.

Today was one of those days again, the sun was out and it was actually pretty hot out for the time of year (if you were out of the wind, otherwise it wouldn’t have been a bad idea to wear a thin coat). The best thing about today was that I actually had a day to relax and have a ‘me’ day without having to do any house work.

Generally I don’t have much time to do some elaborate cooking, it has to be done in 30 minutes during the week so something quick and easy usually passes for dinner. So today I decided to make something that takes a little longer to prepare; stew (or at least something similar to it ;) ). It was so much fun just making it, the smell filled my kitchen and my living room and even though it wasn’t even noon yet I wanted to have some.
I composed myself though and waited for dinner time like a good girl, but I was tempted to eat it all before that time.

I didn’t spend my day off entirely in the kitchen though. I also went shopping and came back with a vest, a beautiful colourful new summer dress and a pair of white 50′s looking pumps. The vest is something I can wear out when it’s a bit colder, instead of a thick coat. My dress is really summer-ish so I really have to wait until it gets a little hotter outside but it’s absolutely gorgeous, the shoes really go with the dress, but also match with a pair of (skinny) jeans so i can wear them already. I just can’t wait to parade around with any of the items :-P .

Maybe I should stop spending money for a little while now; I bought a lounge set for my patio last week, went VIP shopping a few weeks back and spend some more money today. This really makes me sound like a spendaholic, but seriously it isn’t THAT bad. I know what I can and cannot spend or buy, and I’m one of the (few) lucky ones that don’t have to make ends meet (yet).

All in all it was another great day, and it was nice not to have to run around like crazy to get everything done before leaving for work.

// BTW I know this is a really, really boring blog entry, I just didn’t know what else to write about today…
