Refreshing!
Today I decided it was time for a big clean-up. Not only in my house, but also on my site. Well the part you can’t see anyway, the behind the scenes area of SB .
First I sorted through all my paperwork, putting together the stuff that I need for my 2008 tax returns and just generally cleaning up the big pile of overdue work that I needed to go through ages ago. I’m very lazy when it comes to that. Bills get paid and things like that, I just never get around to putting it away properly. It generally ends up in a big beach bag and once in a blue moon I clean it out. Which of course, makes for a shit load more work than when I would put it away immediately but hey; why go around it the easy way eh
.
It’s refreshing to know that all of that is now sorted out, and while I was at it, I sorted through my collection of things I can’t throw away which is gathering dust on top of my wardrobe. That also got sorted out and stored away neatly in cute cardboard decoration boxes.
It really feels like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I just hate sorting out all the paperwork and putting it away. Next week I’ll do a nice spring cleaning of the rest of the house. Which is actually something I enjoy (or at least a little bit). Cleaning up with some (loud) music on isn’t so bad. And my apartment is not that big so it doesn’t take forever, which is nice too…
After I was done with all the sorting and storing, I finally got around to doing something that was long overdue as well; my WordPress upgrade. Yes, a very bad thing to leave hanging for so long but I just didn’t have the time until now. It takes a bit getting used to the new dashboard, but I personally feel that the new look is so much nicer and easier to navigate through than the old one.
So today was all about refreshing, but with everything clean, I’m now kind of dusty so I guess it’s time for me to hit the shower and refresh myself. After that, I’ll just sit at the window looking at the people celebrating the Carnival with a warm cup of tea with honey within my reach.
If things turn out the way I planned (and for some reason they never do although I hope it will work out this time) I’ll be at the parade tomorrow, with camera in hand. So expect a Dutch Carnival impression on SB within the next few days!

I guess that’s one reason why I love cleaning, because I feel renewed and refreshed after, unfortunately with roommates, the spaces never stay really clean… which bothers me. It doesn’t make me mad or anything but it just simply really bothers me. *sigh*
Why do you have to be so organized? I can’t even find any of my clean socks anymore! I love the feeling after I’ve cleaned everything up… I just hate doing the actual cleaning/organizing. Haha
Can’t wait to see the pictures!

It’s always a great feeling to have a “refresh” in life. I’ve tried sorting out my things before, like throwing away or giving away the old ones that I don’t use anymore and it’s a great feeling to unload all the necessary junk around me! At least you’re productive
