Big 2-6
My birthday is coming up (I’m going on 26 shhh…) and I’m currently trying of things to ask for my birthday. People keep asking me what I really want to get. And all I can think of is little things to clutter my house more. I don’t want or need big things as I have everything I feel I need, and the things I don’t have, but do want are generally things that I want to save up for and wouldn’t even think of asking as a birthday present.
The only things I can think of that come in the range of a birthday present (from some people anyway) are a Wii game; Mario Galaxy, a new bathrobe or just general things that love such as books, dvds, music and photo frames. Some think that those kind of present are too boring to ask for a birthday so now I’m sitting here trying to get my head around things that I would really want.
There’s just nothing that I really want right now, I’m about to reconstruct my apartment, getting a second bedroom as well as a new kitchen attached to it so when that is done I have plenty of things I want or need to decorate it with, but for now I just can’t put it anywhere so it will only be ‘in the way’. I could ask for a gift certificate to get certain things after the reconstruction but according to the same people, that takes me right back to the boring category.
So, I’m in desperate need of ideas as they don’t want to come empty handed (although I don’t really care, I just want to spend my birthday with the people I care about). What would you ask for your birthday?

Hmm, I have a hard time with that too. I don’t want people to have to buy me anything because I know how tight money is right now.
I cherish the more thoughtful side of things. Just going out together for some dessert, or watching a movie together, or little practical things I need but havent gotten around to buying.
Since I’ll most likely forget to come back on your actualy B-day, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!
I always love to get something that reflects something from the person who gave it or something that reflects me in a way. If you know what I mean. That makes it special to me. Last year I got a necklace from a friend with a stone which stands for friendship and I loved it. But from my family I usually get the same stuff, from my mom a book (I love to read as well and since my mom is a Dutch teacher she has to give a book) and money, from my dad I got a book about Sweden (which is very handy now ofcourse) and from the rest of my family I got money.

But it’s the boring stuff that I love to receive! lol. Your wishlist sounds a lot like mine… a bathrobe, books, dvds, etc.
Maybe you can ask for a gift certificate for a spa for you and the person giving it to you? I always like asking for gifts that will give me an excuse to hang out with the gift-giver. My cousin takes me out to dinner/the movies/bowling, etc. for my birthday and pays for everything when we’re out. That’s always fun to do
