Dreams
Over the past 2 weeks I have had a few weird dreams with recurring elements in them. I’ve tried to figure out what all these different elements mean but putting them together, I can’t really seem to make much sense of it.
What I do know is that I have doubled my pain medication (similar to morphine) over those weeks and it could have something to do with that. Maybe the dreams are just sparked by the increase of the medication and it doesn’t mean anything.
The dreams are not identical though, they have recurring elements but they are in a different setting and the story line is a bit different. What keeps coming back are my family, my best friend and a dark horse that keeps attacking people (either me or my dad). In the first dream Adanto (one of my horses) ‘showed up’ but he was injured on his legs by a steel pipe, although my sister said he was going to be OK. The second dream had the same elements, although it was located somewhere else. And instead of Adanto showing up Zita (my horse we had to let go past October) was there.
Looking up the different dream meanings online I can’t seem to place them into my every day life.
DARK HORSE: To see a black or dark horse in your dream, signifies mystery, wildness, and the unknown. You may be taking a chance or a gamble at some unknown area. It may even represents occult forces.
I’m not into occult things, I don’t gamble and currently am not taking chances (I lay in bed all day!)
FAMILY: To see your own family in your dream, represents security, warmth and love. It could also symbolize bitterness, jealousy, or rivalry, depending on your relationship with your family. Alternatively, it could mean that you are overly dependent on your family, especially if the family members are in your recurring dreams. Consider also the significance of a particular family member or the relationship you have with them.
I’m certainly not overly dependent on my family, but I love them to bits and I don’t want to miss them for anything in the world. So it does represent security, warmth and love but how does that match with the horse?
BEST FRIEND: To see friends in your dream, signifies aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to incorporate and acknowledge these rejected aspects of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Additionally, this symbol foretells of happy tidings from them and the arrival of good news.
She did tell me she is getting a puppy next week, and she’s also getting married this year but how is that incorporated with the rest of the dream?!
ATTACK: To dream that you are being attacked by an animal, is a warning to be careful with those around you. Take notice on who you know in your waking like that shares and exhibits the same qualities of the animal that attacked you in your dream.
The horse in the dream is violent from the start, it doesn’t all of a sudden turn from a sweet horse into a mean one. I don’t really know anybody who’s like that in my life, I tend to stay away from people like that.
Is anyone into explaining dreams who can help me out. Am I taking all the meanings to seriously and is that why I can’t seem to make sense of it all. Or am I just literally tripping on the medication? Either way it does give me something to think about while I’m stuck in bed with not much else to do!

I wish I can help you but I’ve never been good with interpreting dreams! Maybe it’s because I personally don’t believe that dreams are at all significant to my life that makes it hard for me to see them as more than just a form of entertainment when I’m asleep
On the other hand, my sister is amazing when it comes to these things… She also sort of believes that they do explain the unconscious. The thing is, one has to know you and how you live your life to interpret these things for you because they usually pertain to something significant in your life at the moment.
I’m not convinced that dreams have a meaning but it was so odd that those same elements would come back in my dreams in just a week or so.
My dreams are so weird and varied with so many things in them that there’s no way for me to interpret them. XD I do think dreams have meanings, but they can’t be found in individual elements of the dream. Like when watching a movie, you don’t try to interpret one particular scene, you take in the whole thing to understand it. Good luck!
I know that according to Freud most dream images have to do something with sexuality… lol. I wish I could help you but I don’t know nothing much more though. I think dreams are a mirror of ourselves and we dream about things that troubles us a lot… in a weird way though. ^^
And I believe that there is some kind of a dream world because I sometimes often happen to dream about the same places, then I remember in my one dream about my other dream: “Hey, I was here already… so I should not go that way because there are cannibals.” Haha, it’s odd.

I have had a fair few weird dreams in my time. I don’t know if they have any meaning behind them, but they are interesting I must say.
