Sooner

I just realized that I’m a sooner, in more than one way…

Generally when I want to do something on this site, or when I have plans, it’s “Soon”. Which basically means that it never gets done. I still have so many plans piled up that need to be worked out but I just haven’t gotten around to doing them; I guess that will be done soon :P .

The other sooner thing about me has to do with Football. American football that is, I don’t like soccer too much (unless our national team is playing) it just doesn’t interest me. After a year of digital TV I finally discovered the NASN channel which airs American Football in Europe. I can’t believe haven’t found it before as I’ve been searching forever for a channel that will show it and NASN will show every play-off game AND Super Bowl 43 as well as college football this coming month!

What all that has to do with being a sooner? Well every sports fan has to have a favourite team, and after viewing quiet a few games over the last days I decided my favourite college football team are the Oklahoma Sooners. So that makes me a Sooner!!!

They will play in the FedEx BCS National Championship game against the Florida Gators on January 8, 2009 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens. Thanks to NASN I will be able to see the game, albeit the next day as I can’t stay up during the night (when it’s aired here live) due to work the next day.

So I think you can say I had a nice start of the new year (and a nice ending of the past year) with finding out about the channel and being able to see all these games over the past days and the games to come!

I’m still undecided on which of the NFL teams is my favourite though, but I’m sure I’ll eventually make up my mind… sooner or later ;) .

LOL.
In the Philippines, there’s an actual word for this. It’s called the “mañana system” which refers to the saying “mamaya na!” which is a common response people have when they wanna put something off for later or tomorrow :P

For college football, it’s all about the Huskies (they had a terrible season but I love them anyway) for me! And the Seahawks for the NFL.

Stay away from the Oklahoma Sooners! They are our rivals! ;) And as for the NFL, if you pick anyone besides Dallas Cowboys, you’ll be picking a rival! :)
