Bye Sam?!

I never though washing windows could be so exciting and scary at the same time. I always thought it was boring but it turns out it can be right challenge, especially if you have a cat….

Sam left the bedroom and living room windows rather messy. He likes to sit and watch cars pass by on the road in front of my apartment. He’s scared of going outside though, but he wants to know what’s going on. But because the windows looked really gross from the outside, I decided to wash them.

That by itself, was a challenge, as Sam wanted to help me. So instead of getting out of the way of the water, he just stood in the line of fire (or well, water) and it didn’t take long before he was wet. Which doesn’t help if you want to clean up things; instead of making them more messy.

Eventually the windows where clean and shiny, and although Sam doesn’t get near the kitchen window as it’s higher up and he just doesn’t reach for it, I decided to give that one a wash too. Once the inside was done I thought it was safe to wash the outside of that window as well (I saved the outside of the other windows for another day, I think it’s about to rain so it’s useless, but the kitchen window was bothering me).

Opening the window slowly to see what Sam would do, I noticed he didn’t even care about that window. He went on with his usual things; playing, sleeping and eating. But when I was nearly done with the window I got the biggest scare ever; Sam took a big leap onto the window-sill on the OUTSIDE of the window. He wasn’t wearing his collar, nor does he like being outside, it scares him. So I dropped everything and scooped him off the window-sill. He looked at me like to say “What the hell did you just do, I wasn’t planning on going anywhere”. Which calmed me down and I couldn’t help but laugh at that look on his face.

It’s not so much that I don’t want him to go outside, I’ve tried many times to take him out but he just keeps running back inside and doesn’t seem to enjoy it. It’s more that I don’t want him to run off and get killed by a car on the road here, or worse, fall to the ground and get injured or die as my apartment is located on the first floor.

So yeah, the windows are clean and he can look outside again, but that’s enough excitement for one day for the both of us so we’re now laying on the sofa relaxing.

Haha cute story! I’m glad Sam’s okay.

Some cats are… scaredy cats (ha!) I remember my friend’s cat accidentally got out of the house and when she was found just hours later, she was shaking with fear. Poor kitty =(
