Family
Generally I don’t write about my family on here. Not a lot anyway. But I just have to share this as it’s pretty exciting! Since I’ve discovered Facebook (yes, yes addicted much now, thanks Liesbeth!) I went on a search for some family members I have never met and live abroad.
I actually found some people, but I wasn’t sure if they were really related to me, or if they just happen to have the same name. So, I wrote a little message to one of them, hoping I had the right person, and what do you know, it really happened to be a relative!
It’s very exciting, and Sarah (my second cousin) seemed pleasantly surprised by my message too. So that’s very cool. We’ve been sending some messages back and forward, and who knows, maybe one day we will be able to meet up and say “Hi” in person.
The internet makes the world such a small place…

Wow – that’s fantastic!! I managed to find a school friend that I haven’t seen since I was around seven years old (so around thirteen years ago!). We used to be best friends but then I moved house, and over time we lost touch. It was so sweet to talk to her again: she’s just how I imagined she’d be!
Isn’t it cool when you do that?
As for me, I’m in touch with most people in my family but it’s old friends that I love to look for online.

When I was in grade four I had a really close friend, but she moved to Malaysia. Two years later, I was on Neopets and stumbled into someone who seemed very similar. Her name was the same as my friend, she lived in Malaysia, she’d lived in Australia before, she went to a school in the vicinity of where I went to school (we weren’t going to say our exact school over the Internet)… eventually, I realised that she really was my friend.
The internet does, indeed, make the world a small place.
