Pilates Perils

Today I found out that it’s nearly impossible to do Pilates exercises with Sam in the room. He sees it as one big game and thinks I’m doing it to play with him.

When I was laying down on the floor doing my breathing exercises, Sam climbed on top of the sofa and jumped down from it. Landing with all four of his paws in the middle of my stomach. Needles to say, I didn’t need to exhale after that, the air was already out of me.

Another one of his favourites, is when I move my arms and legs separately (or simultaneously). For some reason he thinks it’s my arms are a big toy he can play with and sink his nails or teeth into.

After 10 minutes into the work out, I had enough and quit for the day. Tomorrow, I’ll try to create some space in the bedroom to do my exercises there. I could of course just lock Sam up in the bedroom or something, but considering I would have to move his food and water there too, and the litter box, that just isn’t an option. And not moving those things over, is just cruel, especially with the current weather conditions. He (and all other animals) need to have permanent access to water and the like…

I guess it’s just another lesson learned; don’t do Pilates with a cat in the same room.

I love Pilates! It’s a great way to stay fit and it’s lots of fun too.

Haha I can imagine how hard that must’ve been. I can’t do Pilates with ANYONE else in the room. One time, my brother tried to join me and I just ended up giving up and laughing at him :P

Your cat is extremely adorable. I think one of my cats would have reacted much the same way in his younger days, but he’s old now. :P I can’t really see myself taking up pilates anyway, though.

Pilates! .. i heard those are awesome for toning up your body and such. Also helps keep your muscles loose and in good shape.

Two years straight (not this year yet but close) i have sprained my hamstring playing softball. I do every stretch technique .. i drink a ton of water hour before game .. stil i was always pulling it. Finally i have a guy on the team who is a physical therapist who uses special stretching for me .. but yeah pilates FUN !!
