Christmas 2007
I have to admit that I find Christmas generally boring. Not that I don’t like spending time with my family but we usually don’t do much on days like this. We play some games, have a few good laughs and maybe go for a walk. But technically you can’t really go anywhere as everything is closed.
On TV there usually isn’t much on that’s worth watching, unless you enjoy watching the same movies you saw the year before (and quiet frankly, the year before that..). So even though I enjoyed being around my family, I feel that those days where a bit of a waste as far as doing productive things goes.
Today we had a nice family dinner at my parents’ house for Boxing day. My sister and her boyfriend were there too. It was nice to sit and eat at my parents’ house again with all of us there. Especially since it has been a while since we all ate together there. We had a delicious indoor ‘BBQ’ and just had a good time talking and joking around. Mom overdid herself with the food, it was very nice!

After his last escapade with the Christmas tree, Sam has been reasonably good when it comes to leaving the tree alone. He has his moments but on a whole he’s just looking at it from a distance, except for about 2 A.M. that’s his favorite time to mess around with it.
Even though Christmas is behind us, I’m sure I will have a few more nights of cat chasing to do as I will leave the tree up for a little while longer. Luckily the ornaments that aren’t in the tree are now safe as my parents got me a storebox for Christmas ornaments so I can store them away safely. Or, maybe I can put Sam in there for the time being while the tree is still up.
Speaking of gifts; I’ve been spoiled again this year. We generally do secret santa for a small amount of money and this year my dad was my secret santa. He got me gift vouchers for books, bodymilk (which I really wanted, I actually asked for it), a good lock for my mountain bike so I can actually take it places instead of just do my ‘on road training’. Besides the secret santa gifts my parents also bought all of us (my sister, her boyfriend and me) some gifts including the storage box and an envelope with money.
I’m not sure what I will do with the money yet, buy a polarization filter for my Pentax, a good camera backpack, save it to buy a new objective or do something completely different with it.
What did you get for Christmas this year?
