New Game

Sam has been out in the living room while I’m away at work for over a week already, and he’s doing really well. He leaves alone my cables and he hasn’t broken anything yet (knocks on wood). But he has invented a new game…

Mum sometimes comes in while I’m away to check on him, to make sure he’s OK. After all he’s still very little. So on Friday she comes in and she notices him playing with something, he seems to be having fun. Looking a little closer she actually sees what he’s playing with; his own poop!! Eww, he was dragging it around the room and seemed all delighted. Luckily mum came in just in time to stop him from doing it and clean it up.

He just dragged it out of his litter box and started playing with it. The worst part of this is that he did it again when I came home from work later that night as well as the next morning, only the last time it was fresh so it stuck on the floor…

Needless to say I had a good clean yesterday, and not just the floor but the entire apartment, just in case!

As cruel as it may sound to some, he’s been punished (watersprayers come in so handy sometimes) when he was playing with it and I think he learned from it as today everything stayed where it belonged, in the litter box.

So Nan, good luck with your future cats, and Jem, I hope you don’t have to go through the same thing either…

Oh my. You better get him stopped before it’s too late. Luckily the cats that comes with our new house isn’t used to stay inside but lives in the stable. I am planning to find a pony or two within the next couple of years to put in there with them :)

Ooh, how funny/gross! xD Glad you got him to stop. Water sprayers really do come in handy! They work equally well from keeping the cats out of the Christmas tree…

Hehe – what a cute kittie. I’m sure you laughed a little when you first found out, but I do agree with punishing him to teach him not to do it – especially seeing as you weren’t cruel about it :) What a lovely cat – you should put lots of pictures of him on here :)
