Car Accident

I think I should start by saying I’m fine and the other persons involved are fine too. On Saturday morning I was driving from my house to the videostore to pick up some DVDs when I got into a car accident.

I wanted to make a right turn and stopped to let a few cyclists pass. Looked again to see if anyone else was coming and slowly pressed the gass pedal when I didn’t see anyone. I was barely moving when a moped slammed into the passenger side of my car. I saw too people sliding over the hood of the car and quickly stopped and got out to help.

Needless to say I was shaking in my boots and when I noticed the girl stay down on the floor I feared the worst. Luckily a nurse was closeby and came to help and some others called the emergency services. One man used my phone as I asked him too as I couldn’t call it myself I was too much in shock.

Eventually it turned out that noone was badly injured and it would end in some bruises and wrecked vehicles. The police took both stories and left again telling us to contact our insurance agencies.

After speaking to my insurance company they told me that because the moped was on the wrong place of the road and therefor I couldn’t have expected him there I wasn’t really to blame but due to laws etc that protect cyclists, pedestrians and mopeds, as a car driver you’re always ‘to blame’.

So in short; car has a big dent, the moped had some damage too and it’s all a matter of insurance but it still sucks. But at least noone got injured and the car can still drive so all in all it’s not that bad.

I’m quiet sure what happened but I don’t want to tell it online, point remains that the moped wasn’t supposed to be there on that part of the road…

Goodness gracious, I’m so glad you’re okay. It could’ve been a lot worse, and I hope you’ve recovered from the shock!

Oh that must be an awful experience. I was run over by a car once. He was to blame though as he was driving in the wrong lane! I am really glad that no one was hurt badly. Here in Denmark the driver is also always to blame.

On something un-related. I can’t make your feed work. No matter how I subscribe or what I subscribe to it breaks. Anyone else experienced problems?

Nan – I’m subscribed to my own feed to see if it works and it works fine for me.. strange though that it’s not working for you. I’ll look into it during the weekend.

And if anyone else is experiencing problems (I believe Amber was too) please let me know
