Wow

I’ve returned from my trip to London and all I can say is WOW. It was awesome to meet up with May again after four years. We spend two days walking around London, talking, shopping, catching up and enjoying our Starbucks in St. James’ Park.

We really had a blast and even though it was very busy due to the London Marathon, it wasn’t too busy at all. It was an enjoyable crowd.

The concert was absolutely amazing. One of the best (if not THE best) shows I’ve ever been to. Jade Gallagher was the support act, she played about six songs before Hanson took the stage. They played old songs (including MMMBop) but also a lot of new songs of the yet to be released (apart from in Japan) studio album; The Walk. I bet they were amazed by the fact that most of us could already sing along to the songs. What can I say, import CD for everyone!

The guys played for nearly 2 hours and put on an awesome show. It was amazing to see their energy. They really did give everything they had (or at least that’s what it seemed like). The crowd was great too, not too much screaming inbetween songs or during solos which was nice.

Even though me and May showed up at 5.30 PM to join the queue outside Koko we had a wonderful spot. We ended up standing on the highest balcony center stage without anyone in front or behind us. So no pushing, and a lot of space.
Unfortunately I didn’t bring my digital camera as we were told cameras weren’t allowed. Instead I took a disposable one with me and of course those don’t have zoom. I dropped the camera off this morning and photos will be done in two days so we’ll just have to wait and see how (or if) they turned out.

After the show we joined the crowd at the door and ended up front row when they put out barriers for the fans to wait behind. After an hour and a half the guys came out and took their time talking to fans and signing things before entering their cab. They signed the singles me and May brought with us. Thanks to May who stayed front row while I got pushed to the back, she was kind enough to take my single too and have it signed.

So all in all it was an awesome weekend, I had a great time and can’t wait to do it again. The guys said they hope to be back for a full tour in Europe before the end of the year so who knows…

And in case you’re wondering, I really liked Jade Gallagher, although I wished she would have looked a bit more interested after the show at the merchandise booth. I was interested in buying her single / CD / EP (whichever she had laying there) but she kept talking to this guy she apparently knew and I stood there for 10 minutes waiting for her to finish. In the end I just left without anything although I would really liked to have bought something.

Sounds like you had an amazing time! I’ve never heard of Jade Gallagher unfortunately, but you’d think that as an up-and-coming musician she would do more to get her fans interested. :S

Did they play I Will Come To You? It was one of my favourites. :)
