The Great Divide

Those of you who know me, are aware that I deeply care about certain causes, and this is one of them. By doing something very simple you can make a difference.

It was already available in Europe yesterday and  today (Nov 28) it will also be available in the USA; a download on Itunes called ‘The Great Divide’. The song is created by Hanson after their trip to Mozambique and South Africa and features a South African Children’s Choir. This single is released to mark World Aids Day on December 1. Money from the sales will go to the Perinatal HIV Unit at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa (http://www.hivsa.com).

I know a lot of people use Itunes, and by doing something small as downloading this song you can make a difference in someone’s life. The song is also accompanied by a video which you can watch here. And if you’d like to pass it on to someone you could use this e-card.

And even if you don’t have the money to buy the single, I know most of you have a website. You could also spread the word about this single in your web log, or anywhere else you’d prefer.

Let me clear one thing up; this post is NOT made to promote the band. It’s purely posted to spread the word about doing something simple and helping others. The band doesn’t want the focus to be on them for doing something like this, they want people to get the song to help the Perinatal HIV Unit, that’s all they care about.

If you’re wondering what I’ve done so far to support WAD; I downloaded the song, passed on the word about it, and watched the video (which I found very touching, seeing those kids) passed that on as well, and bought a T shirt to support WAD.

Together we can conquer this great divide….

Thank you ever so much, I hope this sets off a chain reaction and others will post (about) it on their site.

On our Sex Ed. day we had an hour devoted to learning about HIV and AIDs. It was just too depressing, and truly awful..

You seem like a really caring person! I love how deeply you care about issues like these! I’ll go get the song right now and watch the video! Anything to help, it’s the little things that count, right?

[...] And if you can’t miss 99 cents for this download please help out by spreading the word about it. Through your website, forums, emails, the official e-card and video or any other way you can think of. Some of you have already quoted me, that’s wonderful and thank you so much for that! If anybody else wants to quote me, please use this, this or the current post to quote from. [...]
