Drama with a Twist
Sometimes I wonder how it’s possible that one has such little self knowledge. Take shows like ‘Idols’ where people convinced they can sing make a complete fool out of themselves and than wonder why the judges don’t see their talent. As entertaining as it might be, it’s also rather sad, what will ever become of people without self knowledge?
It doesn’t only happen on TV as entertainment, but also in the so-called professional world. Today I saw a documentary on young models. From all the models followed, they also followed two sisters; twins. They both were registered at the same agency, only one of them had a skin problem, while the other had clear skin. The agency decided to take the twin with the skin problem out of rotation for a little while until her skin had cleared, she was taking antibiotics for it and they hoped it would soon clear. Her sister got an interview at a company for a photo shoot with some other girls, and the girl with bad skin decided to come along too and do the interview as well. Needles to say the agency was furious, telling her that she had bad skin and therefor shouldn’t go out on interviews yet as the skin is what future photographers would remember of her. She really didn’t get it, she got upset and wondered what was wrong with the people at the agency. Her last words on the documentary where; “I’m not going to let them tell me to wait my life away on a couch”.
Clearly (no pun intended) she absolutely did not see her skin was different than her twin sister’s. While, in fact, it was hard to miss. I seriously wonder what will become of her if she already misses the obvious so early in life.
As you can imagine the documentary consisted out of a whole lot of drama.
Speaking of drama, that’s not the only drama I saw today. Because I had nothing better to do I decided to go surf the Internet trying to find some new sites I could add to my list of sites worth visiting. Unfortunately I have to say that from all the sites I visited, there were only a few that were really worth returning to. Most of them were, well, dramatic. Very small font which was hard (if not impossible) to read. Images that took forever to load, and not to mention the content of the blogs; 99% of them were teen-drama-blogs. Not just one entry, no, if that were the case it wouldn’t be so bad. I mean we all have to moan sometimes. But in most cases, it was entry after entry filled with drama or descriptions of their day; to the very minute!
Even though I have square eyes from looking at the screen trying to decipher text, I was still able to get my crochet up as well as writing an article on Weight Loss for the scribblings section. There are more ideas for articles so I hope to add them soon. S-B is also submitted to yet another review site; 7:12 Reviews. If you have any review sites you can recommend submitting to, feel free to share.

I was inspired by your photo friday theme of friend, so I updated my site accordingly. Also, it seems relevant to say that perhaps what the girl with the bad skin really needs most is a friend, and not an agency using her for profit.
@ Amanda
No I won’t tell you, I’ll keep it a secret
@ Jeff
Thanks for the compliment, I’m glad I was able to inspire you.
She probably needs a friend too, but she also needs some common sense, it was really hard to miss her acne so she should / could have known that it had to clear first before she would get any jobs. Some people are oblivious to their flaws, they wouldn’t even recognize them if they hit them in the face with a baseball bat.
As a person with bad skin whose face frequently swells up, I don’t know why she didn’t just wait for the antibiotics to kick in. One day my eye was obscured by my swollen cheek and the next my skin was completely clear. How can she not have noticed?
Yay for pixel font that is impossible to read. I wonder if she gets any comments on her blogs? I couldn’t be bothered to try and decipher what all that writing said.
The link for that review site isn’t working – for me at least, anyway.

OMG. Please don’t tell me that site is stupid enough to use a pixel font!
