Coffee

I like coffee. Especially the coffee from Starbucks. Unfortunately for me, there is no Starbucks around here. Actually, I don’t think there is one to be found in the entire country!

What’s up with that? All I want is a good store where I can get my Coffee To Go while walking around town. The only places you will find one of those stores is a train station. And just my luck, I hardly ever need to be at a train station. Besides, those stores have OK coffee but nothing compares to Starbucks. The only coffee provided at train stations are probably decaf, black coffee (which is nice too!), latte or any other ‘normal’ coffee you can think of.

As far as I’m aware there aren’t any plans to have Starbucks coming to Holland any time soon. Maybe Douwe Egberts (DE), our country’s #1 coffee brand, has something to do with it. After all, Startbucks will be serious competition for them. DE does have some stores like Starbucks around, but not anywhere near me unfortunately.

Thank God for my frequent visits to the UK where I can indulge in Starbucks and drink Coffe Mocha to my hearts content. When I’m there I just have to go into Starbucks to get myself some coffee, not just once, but every time a coffee break is needed I drag my traveling companions into Starbucks. Am I crazy? No just a coffee fanatic and the only good place I’ve found so far to get good coffee is Starbucks.

The purpose of this entry? There is none, I only wrote it to remind myself of the caffeine fix I need. Off I go to be best friends with my Senseo.

Oh yeah, I love Starbucks! That’s the place coffee shop ever. Just being inside the shop makes me happy. The smell/aroma is love and of course, the coffees too. Lucky for the Philippines, there’s Starbucks almost everywhere. Geez, I hope your country could have one soon too. But oh well, at least you travel a lot, and are able to get that caffeine fix =) Hooray :P

Not a major fan of Starbucks, but I love Douwe Egberts! But I can sympathise, we are obsessed with coffee in my house!

Starbucks now sell their coffee beans in store… why not buy some next time you’re in a Starbucks so you can make it at home?

We roast and grind our coffee beans at home to make our own blends, tastes great and you get your own unique coffee :)

I get most of my beans, freshly ground and flavoured instant coffees from Whittard of Chelsea, its a UK tea and coffee specialists, but it does International delivery if you order online. Their “Costa Rica” and “Mocha” mild roast beans are my fave!

Do you by any chance have Gloria Jeans in the Netherlands? I find that the coffee at Gloria Jeans is about ten million times more…’fragrantly fresh’ (for lack of a better adjective) than the coffee at Starbucks.

Of course, that’s for the hardcore coffee. If you like the more mainstream ‘weak’ coffee like frappucinos or what not, Starbucks is just perfect.

Well, I live in England and I’ve never been to Starbucks. I’m not too fussed to be honest; it’s only coffee… (waits for the slapping over the internet). We can swap countries if you wish :)

Starbucks is my guilty pleasure. NL needs a Starbucks. I don’t travel that often to England, but the last time I did you bet I spent some time at Starbucks. ;)

*laughs* No, I don’t think the guy got this internet job :-)

Awww, Starbucks. I heard so much about it and could finally taste a coffee when I’ve been to England last year. So yummie! I love it. But unfortunately there’s no store around here, same like your situation. That’s so mean, Berlin has eight(!), Düsseldorf also. I did a little search but haven’t found any stores in Holland … Don’t know. Funny enough a very imporant manufacture of Starbucks seems to be in Amsterdam but no store. At least I didn’t find one.
