Street Team Day
Saturday was the first meeting of the Official Dutch Street Team for Hanson. If you’re a regular to my site you probably know what I’m talking about but if you’re a first time visitor you might not have a clue. So before I go on I’ll give a little explanation of what the Street Team is.
The Official Dutch Street Team is, the only national team of fans in Holland that can officially promote Hanson with original promo material provided by the band. Basically what it means is, if there is a new album out or something you go out and work together to get the word out about the Album and make the public aware of it. If you’re lucky and if you do it the right way you might actually build up a (small) network of people that can help you promote like record stores. Anyway, that’s basically what it comes down to, official promo for the band in your country. I’m one of the leaders of the team. The other leader is Sarah, a good friend of mine.
So to continue with the story, Saturday was our first official meeting offline. We all went to Utrecht to hang out at Maartje‘s house (she’s one of the members of the team) talk about promo and just get to know each other a bit better. At the beginning there were a few weird silences in our conversation but as soon as the games came out things started rolling and we had a great time. We played a game named ‘Party & Co’ which has all kinds of things in it, charades, lip reading, guessing the word from a drawing, answering questions and some other things. We all ended up getting really hyper which resulted in some goofy pictures Charlie’s Angels style.
The day really was great and we all agreed that we should do it again in the near future. Even though there might not be anything to promote in the near future as the guys are currently working on a new studio album which is not supposed to be for at least another 6 months, it still boosts the team spirit and if you get to know each other it’s easier to put up a national promo day with handing out flyers etc as it won’t be as awkward to hang out together anymore.
I can now add some more pictures of me to my photo album at home, although they aren’t very ‘normal’. Since I’m considered the nut of the group that didn’t really surprised anybody. Maybe some day I’ll show them here, when I’ve decided wether they are embarrassing or not

That’s it for now, I’m going to get some sleep, I’m still tired from Saturday. Later dropsticks x
