First I’d like to say Happy Birthday to my good friend Liesbeth (or as I call her, Lilly as with all the Liesbeth’s I know it can get quiet confusing!). It’s Lilly‘s birthday today and she will be turning…a year older.. yeah let’s keep it at that as I don’t want to get hurt for revealing her age here . Actually I think when I post this, her birthday will already be over as it’s heading towards midnight. Either way, Lilly if you’re reading this, I hope you had a wonderful birthday, I’m really sorry I couldn’t be there!

I have been at home sick since last Wednesday. I really hate having to call in sick as I love to go to work and hate having to hang on the sofa not being able to do anything. Nothing I can do about it though, and I hope to be back at work coming Monday. Being at home sick doesn’t only mean I can’t go to work but it also meant I had to cancel all my plans for the weekend. I was supposed to go out to dinner with Noëlla but obviously I had to cancel that too. It’s a bit of a shame because I love to go out to dinner with my friends and just catch up on things, but Noëlla called me earlier today and she has had her exam week last week, which meant studying a lot, staying up late to study and getting up really early to study again. She was kind of glad to stay at home tonight to catch up on some sleep and relax for a while. I will see her on Wednesday though as it’s her birthday then so we will be able to catch up then. Tessa will hopefully be there too so it will be good to all be together again. I think that might actually be the first time since August 2005 that we are with more than 2 people from our group. Usually it’s me and Noëlla hanging out as we live closest together, a few weeks ago it was Tessa and me hanging out. It will be good to catch up again with the both of them. And then on Saturday we will be hanging out again as that’s my birthday. Maaike is invited too but she hasn’t told me yet whether she is coming or not. She is invited to Noëlla‘s birthday too but from what I heard from Tessa, she can’t make it. Too bad, I haven’t properly spoken to her since August, not even through texts, just the occasional emails now and then…. I suppose she’s just really busy with college and things like that.

The last 2 weeks I’ve been reading the Dan Brown books and I finished reading the last one today. I really liked them and some symbols and things in the book are really interesting. I suppose there is some truth in some things he writes and it does give me a new vision on certain things. Not that I didn’t have my own visions on certain things he writes about but it made me think about it more and gave me new ‘thought’ and ‘ideas’ about it. If I have to go into the details of those things here it would be an even longer entry and I’m already surprised you made it this far through the post . So if you haven’t read his books yet I can really recommend them to you. Just don’t read them because “everybody is” but because you are really interested in the books.
Books in general shouldn’t be read because it’s “in” or because it’s a “hype” but out of interest and to broaden your horizon and knowledge. Ofcourse you can have people recommend you books, just be sure they recommend them for the right reasons and that you read books for the right reasons. I never been one to go with the crowd or do anything just because it’s “in”. So I won’t just read a book because it’s “in”. And I’m very proud to say that I consider myself to have my own identity and that I can think for myself instead of letting others do the thinking for me .
So don’t let anyone or any trend decide what you want to wear, what you want to read, what music you should listen to or who you need to be. Just be yourself, make your own decisions and be proud of it! (To a certain extend anyway, you don’t want to make any wrong decision that ends you up in jail, but that’s common sense isn’t it?)
