Epilepsy

This is going to be a short entry. I’m in bed at the moment feeling rather bad. I’m down with the flu… It started last night and I hoped it would be gone by the morning but it wasn’t, it only got worse. So I had to call in sick from work, arrange for someone else to pick up mom tomorrow morning to bring her to her appointment (she can’t drive yet due to her surgeries and I can’t come with as I can’t leave the house) and stayed in bed most of the day. The only time I wasn’t in bed was in the morning before I called work, as I had to take our dog to the vet’s. He had another epileptic attack last Thursday, well we didn’t know what it was at the time. He’s had it a few times before but always with a few months in between. We called the vet to our house on Thursday and he said to come to the clinic on Monday to get some blood tests done. Luckily the results of the tests were all good and he doesn’t have anything wrong with his liver or kidneys. The vet thinks it is a form of epilepsy and if it lasts longer than 5 minutes at a time or it’s more regular then 4 times a month we need to warn him immediately. There was an option of getting the dog on medication, but that’s more for us than for Butler (my dog), as we won’t really get scared by another attack anymore. We decided not to give him the medication (which according to the vet was the best option anyway as it’s not helping the dog it’s only comforting us, the owners).
I’m glad Butler turned out to be OK apart from the epilepsy. Let’s just hope it doesn’t play up more often then it does now!!

The rest of the day I mostly slept, woke up around 3 PM to realize my horses need to be out in the field rather than their stables and went downstairs to check on mom to see if she needed anything to eat (usually I make her lunch as she isn’t able to do that yet, but she managed to do it today and let me sleep, sweet eh?!) and put the horses out.

So now I’m going to put the laptop away again and rest some more, my head is starting to ache and I really need to get away from the bright lights on my computer. Later dropsticks x
