Walk In The Forest
This morning I went for a walk in the forest. I got there around 8 AM and that meant I was one of the first, if not the first, person(s) there. Which meant that the snow only showed animal tracks and no footsteps yet. It was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful to walk there and just hear the sounds of nature and nothing else.
The best thing about it was seeing 2 deer cross the path right in front of me. Unfortunately they are so quick you don’t even have the time to take out your camera, but it was a very beautiful moment I don’t think I’ll quickly forget. I could even see their tracks in the snow disappearing in the bush, but I didn’t want to intrude and follow them so I kept on walking. Al the while keeping an eye for more deer or other wildlife but didn’t see any more today.
I don’t go for a walk this early on Sunday’s every week, but once in a while I just love to get up really early and start my day off with a nice walk in the forest. I think the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree though as everyone in my family loves to go on walks. I guess it just runs (no pun intended) in the family. Even the dog loves it!
It gives me an opportunity to clear my mind, think about things that bother me and it helps me find solutions for (small) problems so generally when I get back from a walk I feel all new and refreshed and sometimes even have a way to solve a certain ‘problem’ (by lack of a better word).
What do you do to help you clear your mind and gives you a chance to look at things from a different perspective?
