Contacts

Finally after 12 years of wearing glasses I now have contact lenses. I still have to get used to them, and I do have the feeling that I don’t see as ’sharp’ with the lenses as I did with my glasses. But after calling the store I bought them at, I now know I have stronger lenses than I have glasses. So it’s apparently just a matter of getting used to.

I loved wearing glasses, as I could match them with whatever I was wearing, making it more of a style item than something I needed. But there are a few downsides to glasses as well. One of them being depended on special sunglasses too. I could never go into a store to buy a new pair of trendy sunglasses, they always have to be specially made. Which costs a fortune to do so I would always wear normal sunglasses that didn’t have anything to do with trends of that year (although I still looked good haha).

I’ve only had my contacts for 3 days but I already love them, apart from the lesser sharper sight but if I’m not used to that by next week, I can tell them all about it in my check up. The store wants to do a check up after wearing them one week, making sure all is well and if not, making some changes.

I’m not dismissing my glasses just yet. I want to wear them too occasionally just because they look great with some outfits. I guess I just want the best of both worlds….

You won’t want to go back to glasses after having contacts – I wear mine pretty much exclusively these days, and glasses have been relegated to just early in the morning before I put in my contacts, and late at night after I take them out. :P

I use my contacts and my glasses. I usually wear my contacts all day and then switch to my glasses when I get home. If I wear my contacts for too long my eyes get too dry. Enjoy the contacts, but just remember having the best of both worlds is definitely a good idea.
