I Fell In Love
With a dress!! I guess I had you fooled huh?!
Today I went clothes shopping with my mum for my birthday. I wanted something new and funky to wear. Something that really showed ‘me’. I’m a big fan of the 50′s 60′s and 70′s and I like a lot of the clothes too. So I’m very happy with all the old styles coming back.
Generally I’m very good at bargains and buying my clothes at reduced prices, but unfortunately, today I fell in love with a 50′s dress that wasn’t on sale… at all
. After debating with myself for a little while if I should try it on, I figured I could at least try it.
But since it was a summer dress that can be worn with and without straps, I had to have a top over it to be able to wear it now. Asking the lady in the store for help, she gave me a few tops to try on. So off to the changing booth I went.
Of course, once I had it on, I just had to have it, especially with the matching coloured top over it. After a little calculation and some more debating, I decided to go for it. After all I wanted to look good on my birthday and I know I’m going to wear it a lot after it. The good thing is that by matching it up a little I can wear it throughout the year, no matter what the season is.
I have yet to take a photo of it, but that will be done as soon as possible. It’s a white/yellow/dark green corsage dress called ‘Istanbul’ by Vila Clothing and it has a petticoat. Together with a dark green cardigan from Expresso. All in all it wasn’t that expensive to be honest
just a bit more than what I would usually spend on clothing as I go for sales and bargains.
It’s hanging on my closet door at the moment and I can’t stop staring at it. I just want to wear it. Only a few more days though, and meanwhile, I just drool from a distance.

I sometimes feel guilty when I spend a lot of money on something I normally wouldn’t, but it was something you really loved and it sounds like you’re going to wear it a lot. I always think that if it’s something you’re going to wear all the time and something classic, then you should definitely buy it!
That’s why I am staying away from places like the malls for now… I haven’t bought anything for myself for two months now, but you know, sometimes spoiling yourself isn’t a bad thing
Well, sometimes it does some good spending lots of money on just one thing.
But just like Christine it makes me feel guilty sometimes…

I love big sales and bargains like you! But you know? It’s fun to splurge on something you absolutely adore every once and awhile… you have an excuse (or two) anyway! It was love at first sight. AND your birthday’s coming up
