Pancake Anyone?!

The only thing I usually eat from the microwave (and not even that often!) are pancakes. Generally they aren’t very good, they are dry, boring and if you get the wrong brand you can even do someone’s head in with it. But I discovered a brand now that does decent pancakes. They are not that bad, especially because they’re microwave pancakes, although they will never match the real deal; freshly made pancakes.

To make a long (and boring) story short; I had those pancakes today as I couldn’t be bothered to cook or make them fresh. Usually when I eat, Sam just lays in his favourite spot and doesn’t beg for food, nor does he eat anything I think he might like to try. He just plays with it.

The only thing he really seems to love is those pancakes though. I really have to watch my plate and make sure he doesn’t run off with my ‘freshly made’ pancake!!! When he thinks I’m not looking he quickly swipes his paw over my plate trying to get a piece of the pancake. It’s really cute to see and I should try and make a photo of it next time I eat pancakes.

Just to get things straight; he’s never allowed to eat from my plate or steal food from it. He gets fresh food especially made for cats twice a day and I make sure there is always something to eat in his bowl so he’s not starving or anything ;) .
I don’t like it when animals eat off a plate, fork, spoon or whatever that is also used by humans to eat off. Even if you wash it after using it. Maybe it’s just a personal thing but it kind seems kind of gross. I also don’t allow Sam to sit on the kitchen counter or on the table. Even though cats are very clean animals, he still has to go into his litter box, and yes he sometimes steps in his own droppings, so he’s never 100 % clean. But that’s a completely different story…

Why I’m telling you this nonsense about Sam and pancakes? Because I thought it was cute the way he tries to get some of it but mainly because I’m totally uninspired at the moment to write anything decent.

So instead I’ll leave you with a question, do you ever eat microwave dinners and if so, what is your favourite food and why? And if you don’t, why not?

Haha are you having a blogger’s block too?

I usually don’t like frozen dinners because my mom raised us on home-cooked meals so even now, I think frozen dinners are either too salty or too bland. BUT I do love frozen buffalo chicken strips. I can eat those pretty much everyday :P

I don’t eat frozen dinners either, I prefer fresh home made meals but sometimes when I feel lazy, these things like pancakes come in handy.

Are buffalo chicken strips a variety of the buffalo wings you love so much and you could eat 3 times a day ;) ?

My old cat used to do the thing with the paw all the time! Whenever she ate, she’d sit next to someone’s plate and try to swipe someone’s food with her paw. She was never allowed to eat off plates either — she just thought that it would work if she kept trying.

I like frozen food, because I’m capable of cooking it. At the same time, we usually have things like frozen pizzas or frozen chicken wings. I don’t eat them very often, either… but I like them!

YES! Haha I don’t know if people in other countries have heard about them at all…. but they’re basically chicken wings that have been deep fried and then later tossed in a mixture of hot sauce and butter. They originated in Buffalo, New York hence the name.

They’re better homemade but instead of making myself smell like fried wings, I usually prefer just popping a few of them in the microwave oven and have them ready in 3 minutes :P
