Safari

After my previous post about live Wildlife Cams, I decided to test my luck with the Djuma Game Reserve website and see if I could get on a cam safari. They only have 80 places available for people to join in on a safari so getting on is a bit like winning the lottery.

Yesterday I managed to get on a safari and we saw some great animals, including this magnificent elephant bull.

It just was an amazing sight. And you never know what you’re going to see or even if you’re going to see anything at all. So after my encounter with this big elephant and some other amazing animals, I decided to try again today. Maybe luck really is on my side, or maybe it has something to do with the extra 1000 spaces that became available on the safari tours today but I managed to get a spot again.

Today was even better than yesterday, we ran into three animals from the Big 5. Words can’t describe how it feels to see those animals roam free, live on your computer!

Hippo

Of course we also saw some less dangerous animals, such as ‘Bambi’ (as I like to call her). She (or he?) is a late lamb in the Impala herd.

And the scenery itself is worth looking at as well.

As you can imagine I’m going to try and get on another safari again tomorrow, hopefully I’ll see more spectacular animals and landscapes. Care to join?
