Change The World
Now that the new year has arrived and everyone is speaking about new year resolutions and changes shouldn’t we wonder about what our governments will change this year. Not just for us in our own countries but for the world.
Every year world leaders speak about changing things in the world for the better. Things like reducing the CO2 expulsion, fighting AIDS, stop world hunger and creating safe environments and education for children all around the world. But that’s where it stops, we hear a lot of talk and discussions, sometimes even solutions but they never seem to put their money (or other solutions) where their mouth is.
Isn’t it time to finally do something, to get off our asses and see if we can change the world around us. Even if it’s just by doing something small by downloading a song, buying a t-shirt (scroll down for The Great Divide T shirt) or a pair of shoes. If we all just keep looking the other way and ignore the wrongs in this world they will never change for the better.
So apart from the wish of everybody I love being happy and healthy in the new year I truly hope we all can finally change this world for the better, even if it’s just a little step; it will be step in the good direction.

There’s indeed only so much an individual can do but the point is that most people don’t do anything. They turn their heads the other way and think of it as ‘far from here so not important’.
However I feel that our governments should start pulling their weight and do what they say they will..
You’ve got great insights… I agree, it’s time we take a stand do something that is right. But a lot of people need to change themselves before they can change the world…
Government? I don’t believe in them anymore.

I’m all for individuals taking responsibility and acting, but there’s only so much they can do. On things like reducing C02 you’d hope that new laws would be introduced, forcing businesses to not use superfluous packing, etc. It’s time every body did their bit, including government officials. I agree with you though, of course.
Happy New Year, Chans! May this year be better than the last.
