Growing Up So Fast

Sam is growing up so fast. I know cats grow up quickly but if I compare him to photos taken in August when he first arrived and compare them to how he is now, he gotten a lot bigger and changed colors a few times in the last few months.

Unfortunately he will always have an eye problem due to an eye infection when he was still in the nest. But according to the vet it’s not extremely bad he just has a bit of trouble using his ‘cat eye powers’ in the dark. That doesn’t mean he can’t see in the dark it just means it’s not as good compared to other cats.

It’s nice to have an animal like that in the house, it feels just so much homier when I get back from work and he’s waiting for me. Not that I don’t like having Cas around of course, he’s great too, but it’s different. A bird doesn’t sit on the sofa with you and things like that so I guess you really can’t compare them. They are each unique in their own way.

Here’s a photo of Sam taken a while back. He was already with me for a few months at the time so he had grown a lot but if I compare it to how he looks now, he was still a baby there. He’s a lot bigger now, starting to look like a real cat and he’s no longer brown-ish, he’s black right now but since it changed a few times already, who knows, maybe he will be purple next ;) .

Also, I feel like a button has been switched in my head. I actually realized today how much I missed being online and reading everyone’s websites or keeping in touch through email. I pretty much neglected everything that had to do with the online world for different reasons. Of course there was my health situation but apart from that I just couldn’t put myself to do something online. Not even reading my emails. Sure I kept track of them but I kind of put them aside. Today I decided it was time to pick up the pieces and get on with it. So I cleaned out my mailbox (with over 300 emails in it) and still have a few to answer but I’m getting there. Tomorrow I’ll also start with catching up with all of you. I really missed reading about your lifes and I can’t wait to read it all again!

That cat is adorable! :) I’m kind of soft-hearted when it comes to cats—I have two of my own (neither are kittens, and I haven’t seen either of them when they were kittens, either) and every time I see pictures of other people’s adorable cats I have a tendency to go, “Aww,” in a sickeningly sweet, embarrassing way.

Hopefully someone can tell me I’m not alone in that. ;)

What a cute little cat! Oh I love when they’re that young and they play with anything they come across.

:) and to quote Jessica: Awhhhhhh

I agree! I love having an animal around the house :3

I went through something similar with online stuff, too, now I’m back reading and blogging, I didn’t realize how much I had missed it!

I hate cats but I have to say even me, oh heartless cat hater, has to give in to how adorable Sam looks. :P
