I’m In Love

Yes you read that right; I’m in love. Not with a person though (let’s face it, no cute guys around here…) but with my new toy. A Canon Selphy CP720 printer to be able to print my photos. It’s another step in the right direction for selling my photographs. With it I’ll be able to print and sell sets (or separate) postcards, including the professional postcard background.

The great thing about it is that it puts a protective layer over it so water or fingerprints don’t affect it. As far as the fingerprints go; that’s true, the water test has not been done yet. At least not by me.

So now I have to sort through my photography database and set up postcard sets to sell or maybe even a selection of images so people can make their own postcard sets. Which technically means I have to redo my photography site, but that’s OK as it was crap to begin with. I never really liked the layout, I need to go for something more simple but still appealing. Hopefully I get that up as soon as coming week so keep an eye out for it.

For those of you familiar with my photography and already interested in (maybe) purchasing postcards of certain images. Feel free to drop me a line.

As far as the non-exclusive agents go, I haven’t been accepted at two of them and still waiting for the third although I’m not getting my hopes up. According to them my work wasn’t commercial enough, which is something I will have to work on in the future and they’ll be happy to review it again. For those interested check out Shutterstock, Istock and Dreamstime. Just be aware that they are serious companies that require you to upload your ID to make sure you are who you say you are.

I have to admit I was kind of sad not to be accepted especially if you see some photos that are just as good as mine (and similar too) getting accepted. But that’s life, cut your losses learn from it and move on.

I am sorry you didn’t get approved. I guess you could try again with some different photos?

The printer looks great. I bet I will invest in a great photo printer some day.

I want a photo printer. But I also want a camera, and I think I should probably get the horse before the carraige, no?

That printer looks so lickable. No wonder you’re in love.
