Male Company II

Remember Cas? Well he’s not nearly as noisy as he is messy.. When I turn off the light to go to bed he gets silent and he doesn’t start singing again until around 8.30 AM (the first day it was 7.30 AM but for the last few days it has been later than that!)

I do have to clean up his mess outside the cage about three times a day though just to keep things decent, he likes to splash around in the sand at the bottom and when he does that, it goes flying all over the place.

He also loves to take a bath, really going all in and getting out soaking wet. He likes to dry himself flapping his wings which works; but my walls get wet, although that dries up without a trace so it’s not a problem.

It really feels more lively with him in the house, when I leave the room he starts his singing as to ask where I’m going and stops when I talk at him.

Right now he’s sitting in the spot he usually sleeps at so I’m going to call it a day and let him sleep (how nice of me eh!). I hope to be able to return all visits this weekend and update my QBee Quilt, I’ve received quiet a few Valentine’s gift for the current activity at the Bee but haven’t had time to put them up yet.

Animals really do liven up people’s lives! I have two cats and I can’t imagine how boring life would be without them. The fact that they hate each other and keep thinking of new and original ways to annoy each other comes into it a bit, I think. They’re amusing that way.

I’m quite scared of birds. I feel like they want to peck me within an inch of my life, most of the time. I think the only animal I would really consider having when I’m older is a dog – they seem so much more… Human.

Cas sounds like awesome company. I have birds too, and I know exactly how messy they are, and destructive too! When they walk up to you and give you a kiss though, it just makes everything worth it. :)

Aww Penny your birds give kisses? Cas doesn’t do that (yet) but he’s already a lot calmer when I’m close to his cage or with my hands inside his cage to clean things or something. He still has to get used to me, but I think it’s cute that he already tries to call me when I’m leaving the room!

Awwww. We bought my mom a bird when I was about 11 years old. His name was Chico. A cockateil. He was the coolest bird ever. He would sing and talk and give kisses and let you pet his head. He would say “Here Kitty Kitty Kitty” “Chico bird to the rescue!” “Come here petey” (my grandmas bird) he would cat call and say ring ring when the phone rang, he was too cool. Hes actually still alive and kickin it, my grandma has him now. We call her crazy bird lady. lol. I think you’ll enjoy cas’ company. =)
