C.H.A.N.S.
After doing a search for “Chans” on google.com (this is something I do regularly, as I’m wondering when my site comes up; at number five at the moment). I noticed a site named Chans. So of course I had to check it out. It turns out its a site for a society called Charity for ANimals Society; CHANS.
Those of you who know me well, probably immediately see the funny coincidence, but for those of you who miss the irony of it let me explain. I’m what some people call a ‘natural’ person. I love the outdoors, nature and animals. I can really enjoy just walking through the woods and taking in anything nature has to offer. Sometimes you can find me there as early as 8 AM. It’s really relaxing and at the same time it offers great opportunities for photography.
My animals are very important to me, I currently have a dog, three horses, a goldfish, ten cats and there also is a guinea pig which belongs to my sister. Until a few weeks ago I also had a rabbit, but he passed away right before my summer holiday.
As you can see I’m really close to nature, I donate money every month to help protect the environment and save animals. My trash is separated and if possible recycled. I can honestly say I already feel bad when I throw an apple core into the bush when I’m done eating even though I know it won’t harm the environment.
And that sums up why it’s so funny a society for the charity of animals is called Chans. Unfortunately I can’t read what the website says as it’s in a language I don’t speak (seems like some sort of Scandinavian language; Danish, Norwegian or maybe even Swedish). I do know that Chans means chance in Swedish. There even is a song about ‘Chans’ by a band named Kent.
I’m fully aware these are useless facts but I just wanted to share, because it seemed like a funny coincidence to me.

Did you know that A.M.A.N.D.A. is the Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver? It kinda fits me too…computer nerdy stuff.
Our names are like our personalities!
S.U.S.I.E. is the Scripting Using a Smalltalk Interpreter Engine. Apparently it ‘is an attempt to provide a light weight scripting engine using Smalltalk as the language’. And I have no idea what that means, but it sounds really advanced and cool. So yeah!
That is cool to find that out. I love nature too, and walking in the countryside is something I don’t do enough.
Everyone’s names really seem to fit their personality, like Amanda said. And Susie I have no idea what that stands for either but since it’s cool it fits you too
Jon…nope. All I get is results for Jon Steward. Jon could be Jealous of Newbies, though. And it’s great to see what you love nature so much! I know I should be doing more to help our environment.
