Like I said in my previous entry; my holiday starts tomorrow (technically today but let’s not get into that). Today was my last day at work and I’m off now for two weeks. I don’t know how often I’ll be able to update in those two weeks but of course I’m going to try, I don’t want to disappoint my audience (or would the fact that I’m an internet addict have anything to do with it?). In short; S-B is on a semi hiatus.

My holiday nearly started off with a bang though, literally. I drove home from work and it was already dark outside (as it nearly always is). So I get to the bridge and all of a sudden I see two girls on their ponies come out of the sand trail to cross the road. This is industrial area so I didn’t expect them. I had to break really hard, luckily the car has just been checked in the garage so it was all up to date. One of them wasn’t wearing a helmet, both weren’t wearing any lights or fluorescent vests. There also was a little boy around their age, I think they must have been between eleven en thirteen years old (OK that makes them twelve but you get the point!). He was on a bike and he didn’t have his lights on either. Some of them were wearing black clothes making them nearly invisible coming from the shades of the trees around the sand trail onto the road.
Nothing happened, I stopped a safe distance away from them and they happily continued on their way but my heart was in my throat as you can imagine.

The whole drive home I couldn’t stop thinking about the girls and what could have happened. I know they scared the hell out of me but I surely hope I scared the hell out of them so they will think of their safety next time they go out riding in the dark!
