Leisure-Day
Leisure
is time spent in non-compulsory activities. Because leisure time is free from compulsory activities such as employment, running a business, household, chores, education, eating, and sleeping it is often referred to as “free time”. The distinction between leisure and compulsory activities is not strict, as compulsory activities may be done for pleasure as well as for long-term utilityFrom Wikipedia.org
I really had some of that today. It’s been a long time since I really had a Saturday off. Granted I usually don’t do much in the weekend but since I moved out I still have been doing a lot of work around my apartment over the weekends.
So since today really was ‘me’ time, I slept in until around 11 AM. This might not sound like a long sleep in but considering I’m usually up at around 8 AM it is for me
. When I finally managed to drag myself out of bed I went into town and did some shopping. I bought some really cute clothes, which I might photograph some day, if I can be bothered to do so.
After all that shopping it was time for a bit of rest again (you know, shopping is hard, and carrying around heavy bags is even harder). I grabbed one of my books and enjoyed the late afternoon sun for a bit.
Even though today was ‘leisure – day’ I did manage to do something productive; I saved three flies and one moth from the pool. Unfortunately one of the cats saw her chance with the moth when I was saving flies and ate it…

ROFL! How did you save flies and moths? Were they floundering in the water, and you had to fish them out?
Ohh how I miss my Saturdays. People who have an entire weekend of ‘leisure’ definitely take it for granted. It sounds like you had a wonderful day to yourself. I did some of that myself today. Even though it was Sunday, not Saturday.
*grins* Oh yes… free time, it seems I had some such a long time ago… especially since I’m in the middle of finals.
You save flies? I used to drown them in my bucket… well sort of, only to save them again (I’m so evil). Truly admirable.
Oh, I know flies and moths are living creatures, and I am all for saving the animals. But flies? Ever since my nan told me what they did to my food, I’ve always ran off screaming.
Leisure time is such a precious thing but when you get to indulge in it as much as me, it can get slightly tedious.

I have no more ‘me’ time.
